Body Paragraphs:

“It’s feast or famine out there at the moment,” said Carrier Transicold MD Scott Dargan, referring to how the refrigeration manufacturer’s UK customers are being impacted by COVID-19.

“The food service sector is very depressed, but the supermarkets are more than making up for it. Fortunately for us that’s a big part of what we do. We have a healthy share of that segment, and do a lot with the main retailers.”

Dargan confirmed that Carrier’s 170-plus team of mobile service engineers are still out on the road, ensuring that its customers’ vehicles remain in operation. He also said the company has a good stock of parts and finished product.

But one side of the business that is currently suffering is instalment. He said many bodybuilders have temporarily closed their doors, meaning Carrier has had to furlough some of its installation engineers. “But it will pick up, and we will bring them back,” he added.
