Summary:
Production of new Volvo FM, FMX, FH and FH16 delayed until March 2021
Body Paragraphs:
Volvo has postponed the sales start of its new FM, FMX, FH and FH16 models until September, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The new trucks, which were launched last month, were originally intended to go on sale this week (1 April), but instead have been postponed until 7 September. Production will now commence in March 2021.
A spokesman said: “The decision to delay was made because we need to change the production lines over, which can’t be done when the factory is running on a skeleton staff.”
He confirmed that when the factory reopens, production of current models will continue. “And I’m pleased to confirm that order books are still healthy,” he added.
