TIP Trailer Services has placed an order for 1,000 new SDC semi-trailers, continuing a 20-year relationship between the two companies.
The order is for a wide range of trailers, including curtainsiders, box vans, skeletals, platforms and drawbar trailers, and will be delivered over the next six months. It consists of a mix of both TIP-specified builds for its rental, lease, and contract hire fleet, and customer-specified trailers. Many of the latter will be built to TIP’s UK and Irish customers’ own specifications, and finished in their dedicated liveries.
Karl Davies, commercial director at TIP, says: “TIP has experienced a high demand for new trailers over the last 12 months. In 2020, we took delivery of over 2,000 SDC trailers and we predict that this demand will continue throughout this year. Fleet renewal is also a key part of this investment and, in line with our ‘2025 roadmap to complete digitalisation’ for our entire fleet, we will equip new additions with state-of-the-art telematics systems”.
