Body Paragraphs:

Stoke-on-Trent-based trailer manufacturer Don-Bur has started using virtual reality (VR) to show customers how their trailer will look before it is built.

Don-Bur marketing manager Richard Owens said that with the manufacturer offering many bespoke trailer designs, the use of VR allowed a computer to create a render in 48 hours and a 3D sequence of the trailer within a week.

He said: “Although we have a photo library, VR allows us to present the design in a holistic fashion.”

Making use of low-cost Google VR headsets, the 3D tour of the trailer can be accessed on a smartphone sitting in the unit.

You can view the sequence via a PC or phone but use of the headset provides a sense of depth and scale, the company said.

  • Visitors to this year’s CV Show in Birmingham (25-27 April) can sample the VR technology on the Don-Bur stand (5A50).
