My favourite holiday destination is…
Rome - there is so much to see. If I worked there I would never get anything done. I would be constantly marvelling at the architecture.
I drive a…
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (hybrid). I bought it earlier this year. I previously had a Land Rover Discovery.
My hobbies are…
Karate, boxing, running, mountain biking, climbing, hill walking and any other sport in the offing.
I got into the industry…
After representing a client at a public inquiry (PI) - I am a solicitor. At that PI we came up with the idea for CheckedSafe to solve the problem of walk-around checks. My client was in trouble for not doing them properly on paper, so we thought there had to be a better solution and came up with the idea of building an app.
To encourage more young people into the industry we should…
Encourage apprenticeships. If more apprenticeships were on offer for young people as an alternative to degrees, it would be a great way to attract talent. The cost of university is so high and it isn’t suitable for everyone, so apprenticeships are a viable alternative.
The outlook for our sector of the market in 2017 is…
That the transport sector will continue to take on board the efficiencies that digital systems have to enable cost saving and compliance. The paradox is that it has some of the most advanced systems such as telematics, but at the same time some of the most antiquated, such as paperbased checks.
