Thompsons is to launch its aftersales and specialist engineering service, ServiceTech, at next month’s Tip-ex.
The service will encompass bodywork fitting for skip-loaders, hook-loaders and cranes; installation of cranes and tractor kits; bodywork repairs to rigid tippers and trailers; and general maintenance, refurbishment, paint and shotblasting.
ServiceTech will also incorporate Thompsons Total, the bodybuilder’s tipper aftercare package, which offers a three-year warranty and on-site support.
Thompsons has dedicated the entire workshop at its factory in Blackburn, which has been fitted with overhead gantries cranes and a shotblast and paint facility, to the ServiceTech operation.
Manager Nathan Ewins said:“Establishing ServiceTech with a £2.5m plus investment gives us a base to further develop our services into the future.
“In particular, we can now go beyond looking after just tippers as today many of our clients run multiple vehicle types in many different applications.
“The tipping, waste and environmental services industries are coming ever closer together which is why ServiceTech, with its unique combination of expertise and capability, can provide these operators with immediate and obvious benefits.”
