Body Paragraphs:

Iveco has unveiled the 6x2 version of its LNG-powered Stralis NP after the launch of the 4x2 model in 2016.

While there are currently 25 Stralis NPs in service in the UK, its availability as only a 4x2 was a drawback in a market that favours a 6x2 configuration.

That situation has now been overcome with yesterday's unveiling of the 6x2 version, designed for 44-tonne operation.

The new version is powered by the same nominal 460hp rated 12.9-litre Cursor 13 NP engine and Hi-Tronix 12-speed transmission as the 4x2.

Concerns over range have been addressed with fitting of dual gas tanks, giving a claimed potential of 750km, while still being fitted with conventional 22.5in wheels on all three axles.

Stuart Webster, Iveco business director said:  “Customers tell us that vehicle range will be key to winning their orders, and we’re confident that our pure LNG solution will deliver the optimum mileage for a 6x2 gas-powered tractor.”

The Stralis NP 460 6x2 is available for order as of now.
